A Guide to Being Your Own "Bad-Ass" Spiritual Warrior
Are your beliefs holding you back or leading you forward?
Be your own “Bad-Ass” Spiritual Warrior
Are you at that pivotal point as a spiritual entrepreneur or lightworker where it is time for you to step out there, and share your gifts? Being a spiritual “bad-ass” is a calling!
Perhaps you’ve trekked through your own metaphorical jungle, met your shadows, and somehow connected to a larger purpose of why you are here – now, at this moment in time. You have gathered awesome skills and heart-based love, and believe you are ready to go- to shine your light in BIG ways. And you think…”Okay, how do I get out there and shine my light? Do I need more…”
Clients?
Confidence?
Money?
Skills?
Here’s the thing. I believe what we need most, as spiritual warriors, is COURAGE. We need to be willing to face what we don’t want to see in ourselves, and face the scary parts that tell us that:
We are not enough
We aren’t worthy
We’ll lose our loved ones if we live on our terms
We will be hurt (killed, persecuted, misunderstood, or cast out) for shining our light
At the core of it, we often feel something is really, really wrong with us for being different, not fitting in, or being the “bad-ass” self we are meant to be!
We need courage – and gentleness- to face and love neglected parts of ourselves. This is so important to be able to become the light bearers we know we can be, and to shine the light for others on their journeys.
Face that SH**%@T (aka the trauma, what’s dark & messy)
Let’s shine a light on some of the collective trauma that can evoke quaking responses from otherwise mystically centered lightworkers. We may have been killed in past lives for speaking our truth. Do you have memories or energetic imprints from being burned at the stake? Many of us, throughout time, have been terrorized for holding compassion or speaking truth to power.
We have also inherited trauma from our ancestors. This originated from their ignorance, hurts, or navigating life in harsh societies. These uncleared remnants often hold us (unconsciously) back. We inherit outdated beliefs, energies and traumas that keep us playing small. And then beat ourselves up for not doing enough, not shining enough. Really, we need to be gentle with ourselves, and then take ourselves in hand to do the work to clear these shadows, once and for all.
Whoa…watch your inner talk
As an example from my life, this year, I have been moving along fairly flowingly with my new spiritual business, Diamond Light. I feel so blessed to be doing work that really lights my heart on fire. I am slowly building my client base. One challenge, though (so far- this is changing) has been gaining regular paying clients.
I asked for help from the universe, and holy cow, it delivered. I came face to face with a limiting belief that I didn’t even know was running behind the scenes. At some point in one (or more) of my incarnations, I inherited the belief that it is not okay for me to charge money for my spiritual gifts and services. Whoa…I felt this in my body viscerally, as if I was breaking some cardinal rule.
Act with courage to change the rules
There’s no one to blame outside of myself – it is an internal belief that has held me back and kept me playing small. Perhaps it came from a time when spiritual seekers were shunned or as a means of protection for speaking out and being harmed. Wherever this idea came from, it has been holding me back.
As I bring courage and light to this belief, I can see how, in some ways, this belief has affected me my whole life. I’ve made great money doing work that feels less than fulfilling. Yet, my “true” work hasn’t yet supported me (fully) financially.
Let’s shift that baby- it’s time. For me and for you and for all of us as spiritual warriors. We are meant to lead our lives on our terms, to see the clients we are meant to see, and make the impact that is ours to make!
Here are some new beliefs I now leverage to toss the previous outdated belief on its head.
I deserve to be well paid for sharing my gifts and talents.
Charging appropriately for my spiritual gifts ensures a fair exchange of value, and a way for me to succeed and thrive.
I am worthy of success!
I am loved and supported as I show my true authentic self with the world. This is my most valuable gift to the world.
I deserve to be abundantly loved and supported as I shine my true and unique light.
I am worthy of living the most brilliant and abundant life I can imagine!
It is a quick process, for the universe to mimic and deliver on our new beliefs. Already, having shifted my beliefs, my actions more closely align with owning my power. I am guided to make more purposeful boundaries, to be more thoughtful in my promotions, and to speak with greater respect and value for my (amazing) offerings.
Shine your light baby!
Being a spiritual “bad-ass” takes courage. Just for you to incarnate at this time, with your gentleness, deep sensitivity, and hope for a better world, takes great courage. Honor this. Realize your light, magic, and gentleness is a balm to the world. It is a gift that is so needed at this time. Be willing to shine the light of love on your own heart.
As a step to build your courage, consider: Is there any inner talk that makes you feel less than? Then bring your light to the dark. Be willing to see and clear, and then move forward to express the true beauty that you are.
You are loved. You are needed. Be the true “bad-ass” you were meant to be!
Much love,
Alisa

So much truth!! What critical voice in us believes an accountant can be very well compensated for their math gifts, but a spiritual guide should not be compensated for even rarer spiritual gifts and wisdom? Both deserve fair compensation for using their gifts to serve and benefit others. And of course that's just one example of how our inner voices hold us back. Thanks, Alisa, for the encouragement to work on freeing ourselves from our limiting beliefs. I will say that some of them don't leave easily, and that's where therapists and spiritual coaches earn their pay and deserve it!!
